Tampa Bay Rowdies charitable arm receives donation ahead of WrestleMania

TAMPA – With WrestleMania coming to Raymond James Stadium this weekend World Wrestling Entertainment has sought to do good for the community. With that in mind they have provided the Tampa Bay Rowdies with $3,700 for the Replay Tampa Bay drive.

The initiative will see the Rowdies get money to provide aspiring young soccer players in the region with equipment to play and train so that they may one day become Rowdies.

WWE’s drive was kicked off by Tampa native Titus O’Neil who has been a tireless supporter of the Tampa Bay community, most commonly under his non-stage name leading to less attention for his work. His work stems from arts, to community projects and of course sports.

This isn’t his first time combining with a Tampa Bay sports team to help the kids of the region. In 2019 he teamed with the Buccaneers to fill backpacks with supplies for 15,000 local kids. He also earned recognition from the Lightning as part of their Community Hero system.

“Our footprint in this community would definitely not be as large without having our sports organizations,” O’Neil said at the launch. “They continuously answer the call day in and day out, year in and year out, to make sure they put smiles on kids faces, to help families become more self-sufficient and provide opportunities that last a lifetime.”

All four Tampa Bay championship winning sports teams received the same grant from WWE pushing Tampa Bay Sports Commission’s goal of using these events to promote sports participation.
