Zach Steinberger Remains With Rowdies

ST PETERSBURG – A member of the Tampa Bay Rowdies midfield has returned for 2021 with Zach Steinberger signing a one-year contract.

In two years as a Rowdy Steinberger has managed 35 appearances (25 of them as a starter) and scored five goals. While he only scored one goal in 2020 it was a vital goal, winning the team the Eastern Conference Final.

“Zach has been an integral part of moving the club forward the past two years, and I am delighted he will be able to continue building on all his hard work to date,” said Rowdies Head Coach Neill Collins. “Zach’s hard work was rewarded with excellent performances in the playoffs and, of course, who can forget his fantastic goal in the Eastern Conference Final. I hope to see more like that in 2021.”

The former North Carolina man saw reduced time at Al Lang this year, only managing 414 minutes in green and gold but he was still clearly seen as a threat to opposition defenders, drawing 10 fouls. He was also significant in his contributions, with the Rowdies netting seven goals while he was on the pitch.

With the announcement of Steinberger’s return the Rowdies now have 19 players and he will provide useful depth in midfield, making an impact off the bench.
